A sparkle in the bedroom

When renovating my bedroom last summer there were a few things I wanted to achieve in this room.....It had to have a white and serene athmosphere whitout being to shabby and most of all there had to be a little sparkle. I love the few touches of mercury glass decoration, the stones and the Moroccan plates.

Especially when the sun shines through the old shutters, the light grey doors and the mercury glass seem to lighten up the room. Although I live in the city I guess this is how it must feel to wake up in a summerhouse. I thought the little cushion would give the room an additioneel sparkle. Ain't it cute with it little knots?

The big white cushion has a transfer that says 'Place des Vosges' and is made by my friend from 'Carte Blanche' The name of my blog is based on this square in Paris!

Het witte kussen heeft een transfer met de tekst Place des Vosges, een pleintje in Parijs waarop de naam van mijn blog is gebaseerd. Gemaakt door mijn vriendin van 'Carte Blanche'

Toen ik vorige zomer met deze kamer bezig was had ik een bepaald sfeertje in gedachten. Het moest vooral een lichte en witte, maar niet shabby, kamer worden. En er moest vooral ook een klein sparkeltje in komen. Ik ben nog steeds gek op de eenvoudige decoratie, zoals het mercury glass en de marokaanse schalen.

Vooral als de zon door de oude luiken schijnt lijken de licht grijze deurtjes en de glimmende vaasjes de kamer op te lichten. En mijn nieuwe kussentje, met mooie knoopjes geeft de kamer nog een extra sparkeltje, vindt je niet?
